How to price the services on your SMM panel
Every service on your panel has a cost, the provider's rate, and a price, yours. The difference has to pay for everything else. Here is a simple way to set it.
Start from the provider rate
Providers usually quote a rate per 1,000. If a service costs 0.80 per 1,000 at your provider and you sell it at 1.20 per 1,000, your gross margin is 0.40 per 1,000, or a third of your price. Do this for each service you sell; a single percentage for the whole catalogue is easy but rarely right.
Count the costs people forget
- Payment fees: what each payment provider keeps when a customer tops up.
- Refunds and partial orders: the unused part of an order goes back to the customer's balance, so price for some of them.
- Refills: a service with a guarantee may need a refill you also pay for if the provider does not cover it.
- Your panel and your time: software, hosting and the hours spent on support.
A service that looks profitable on the rate alone can lose money once these are counted. Check your numbers after the first month and adjust.
Margins that usually work
There is no single right margin. Cheap, high-volume services often carry a thin margin and are sold in large quantities; specialised or guaranteed services can carry a larger one because customers value reliability over the lowest price. Compare your prices with a few other panels, but compete on service quality and support as well, not on price alone.
Minimums, maximums and the currency
Set minimum and maximum quantities that match your provider, or orders will fail. Make sure the price of the minimum quantity is not so small that the payment fee is larger than your margin.
Choose the currency of your panel deliberately. If your provider charges in one currency and your customers pay in another, exchange rates move your margin. Arty panels can also show prices in the currency a visitor prefers.
Reward your best customers
Resellers and regular buyers bring most of the volume. Give them a reason to stay: lower prices at higher levels, a personal rate for a customer you know well, or a share of what the customers they refer spend. Arty panels include user levels and discounts, custom rates per customer and an affiliate program for exactly this.
Review prices regularly
Provider rates change, and so do your costs. Once a month, compare each service's price with its current rate and with its refunds and tickets, and adjust. Raise prices on services that cause work; keep popular, trouble-free services competitive.
If you are still choosing software, remember that its price is part of your costs too. Arty is priced by your monthly orders, from $25 per month with no setup fee; the pricing page shows what each volume costs.
